Colleen first discovered the powerful healing properties of acupuncture when she was caring for her dying father in her home. A friend offered her an acupuncture session and she continued to receive treatment for emotional balance and stress relief during that extremely difficult time. She attributes her ability to stay grounded and physically healthy to the acupuncture treatments she received. This experience eventually prompted her to leave her home state of Maine and travel to Oregon to study Chinese medicine and acupuncture at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in Portland. After graduation from OCOM, Colleen traveled to Nanjing, China to study at the China Nanjing International Acupuncture Training Center.
In her practice, Colleen uses acupuncture, herbal medicine, gentle touch, and always laughter to facilitate relief from many physical and emotional illnesses. Her gift to her patients is her ability to see them as they truly are – whole and healthy – despite whatever condition may be manifesting at the time. She offers a guiding light to help patients find their way smoothly and easily back to joyful and vibrant well-being.
Colleen has a special interest in working with older adults and seniors and believes that Chinese medicine is a powerful tool to help restore balance in many illnesses that are common to the aging population in our culture. She seeks to be a leader, to help older people regain their health and to remain joyful, healthy, independent, and contributing members of our society.
Colleen has two grown sons and lives with her husband, Joe, in southeast Portland.
She is available for a free 10-minute consultation and is beginning to accept insurance plans, including motor vehicle accidents and workers compensation claims.
